Dear Patrick,
Hope you are doing good. It's been long since we had a conversation. I have been quite busy with my transition into PhD that consumed most of my time. I got to know from Manpreet that you will be visiting San Francisco next weekend and wanted to give some insights on some of the places you could visit and details about transportation
San Francisco is famous for a number of historical and significant places but the things you shouldn't miss is a drive through the golden gate bridge to the baker's points which has the best view of the bridge. Other significant place to visist in Lombard street, followed by Pier 39 for a cruise trip around Acatrazz island.
About transportation, SF city has tram and bus connectivity to every nook and corner. All you need is to get a metro card and recharge it for one day pass at the kiosk located at castro street. They will also provide you the map of the tram routes. To covert the places like Golden gate bridge, lombard street and pier 39, you must take a combination of purple and orange lines or bus number 429. In case you need any assistance or stuck somewhere please feel free to reach my number 805-618-4249. I am living nearby in San Ramon.
Let me know if we can catch on Saturday night.
Cheers,
Aravind
