A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time voluntary/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary/unpaid work at the museum. Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the voluntary/unpaid work. In your letter, explain why you want to do voluntary/unpaid work at the museum. Describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful. Give details of when you would be available for work.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing this letter in response to the part-time voluntary/unpaid work advertisement. I would like to apply for this job. I have always been interested in History and Arts and I find this to be a chance to learn more about these subjects. Working at the museum will give me the opportunity to meet and interact with other people also interested in these subjects - I am sure that I can learn something new from them and broaden my knowledge. I think that I am suitable for this job as I am punctual, hardworking and organized. I have good communication skills with which I can serve as a tour guide to the visitors. Being an avid collector of rare antiques, I am skilled in handling objects carefully and delicately. I work well in a team and I am open-minded about learning and developing new skills. I am available Monday through Friday in the evenings from 4PM to 9PM. Please let me know if there is a shift available at this time. Thanks and regards, Tom
