"Who would devote her life to science in this class? " 12-year-old me was surprised when she noticed she was the only one in the class who raised her hand. Indeed, I have always been a science-based person, and this passion grew until I chose Applied Sciences major to study at high school. But, why did I adore science? when I was at primary school, they defined a unique moral award for a student who behaves agreeably with other students and cares about them; and I won the prize that year. Caring for others has always been a significant element of my personality, and science gives me the required knowledge and confidence to be a beneficial person in their lives; educating in health-based programs was my favorite path to acquire this intention. "There are merely 24 hours per day, 8 to sleep, 8 to work, and 8 to rest", when I heard this sentence from a friend, my mind could not discontinue brainstorming about the profound impact of these 8 hours on each other and end in whole day. As the only breadwinner of our family of four, my father's occupational hardships directly involved us. Every reward or challenge he experienced at work determined his mood for the rest of the day. With this background, I was highly fascinated by the occupational health program. I joined one of the most prestigious universities in my country, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, to attain the proficiency of assisting people to be mentally and physically healthy. It was quite satisfying to visualize how I can send healthy workers to their families by creating a safe and sound workplace. "Trying is my favorite part of life, " said my mother. Having been raised by her made me a hardworking girl. After I joined University, my professors and students were soon impressed by my diligence, and due to my election as the president of the National Occupational Health and Safety Scientific Association, I became a known character in my field. In pursuit of passing my internships in various industries; and my research-based courses like Epidemiology and Biostatistics with excellent grades, I acknowledged that my career priority is teaching and researching in health-related organizations and institutes. I decided to be more diligent in research projects, so I attended national and international conferences, and I could be admitted to a competitive scientific project funded by the National Elite Foundation. To strengthen my skills for collecting and analyzing data, I attended relatable workshops, Co-authored systematic reviews and human exposures articles. However, Corona Virus challenged me; My duty was to protect workers in their workplaces, and the nature of work, life, and community-style had changed. These changes made me more interested in investigating mental and community health. "It ain't matter where you start; It matters how far you go. " When my cousin, a prosperous scientist, said it, I found myself enthusiastic about going far for my objectives. Nevertheless, I comprehended it was crucial to be on the proper path. Pursuing my education in a research-based program was essential according to my passions in academia and research. After a prolonged search, I found the "MSc of Epidemiology and Applied Health Research" at Dal, an ideal program that is pretty aligned with my interests and goals. Indeed, this program is demanding, but I am ready to give it my very best. As I set my goal to enter this program, I attended an "Epidemiology" course on Coursera to get more familiar with its terms in a language other than my mother tongue. I would like to be supervised by Professor Wang, whom I find his research area pretty aligned with my interests, and we could share our points of view through a skype call. This program would lead me to a future where I have a wide range of possibilities to continue my education for a Ph. D. program. I am really looking forward to joining the program. As I have experienced studying in different institutes, I comprehend the vital role of the environment and facilities in one's prosperity. That is why I strive to continue my education in outstanding universities, and I find Dalhousie University an incredible choice.
