I am writing to request some more professional training. As I am now negotiating new contracts directly with our clients, and I believe it would be beneficial if I could take this new course to assist me to get a deal more successfully. To my way of thinking, the course is ideal because it focuses on key skills such as recognizing how negotiations might change during the process and reading the emotions of people with whom I am negotiating. It is critical to determine whether the other side is likely to accept our offer. Another area in which I need to improve is my ability to listen properly. I sometimes find it difficult to concentrate on listening, therefore I may not always ask the appropriate questions. One reason for this is that the course also looks at the value of careful planning and preparation so that I may develop successful strategies to use during negotiations. Since the next course is in two weeks’ time, I’d appreciate it if you could confirm as soon as possible if I can take this course as I have to negotiate the new contract with our biggest client next month.
