Good morning dear students! It is my pleasure to welcome you! My name is L. and I’m a Biology teacher from State University. I’m here to introduce and discuss a very interesting subject “What makes a balanced diet? ” Have you ever pondered over what a balanced diet is and why it is so important?
To begin with, a balanced diet for good health consists of essential nutrients, minerals and vitamins that our body requires for healthy functioning. If we lack healthy food it can lead to several health problems. Thus, it is obvious that our constitution requires protein, vitamins, minerals to keep us healthy.
Next point is that one must increase the amount of water to consume in a day. The human body needs to stay healthy. As almost 80% of our body is consists of water, we need it for good metabolism. Hence, start with drinking at least two liters of water every day. Moreover, we should cut down on the consumption of tea, coffee and refuse alcohol.
The other important item is that our body consumes food for moving, thinking, breathing. It means that the number of calories is equal to the amount of energy in food. But the number of calories depends on age, gender and physical activity. Therefore people should remember that a huge amount of calories leads to overweight.
To conclude, a balanced diet can bring only positive effects. To achieve a balanced diet it is important to eat at least three times a day. Our meal should consist of meat, dairy, grains, fruits and vegetables. It is necessary to control the calories and drink a lot of water.
