Types of air purifiers

Types of air purifiers 3agxN
The reading passage and lecture both have conflicting opinions about whether air purifiers are efficient or not. The author of the reading strongly postulates that there are so many types of air purifiers, which can be used to protect human health from air pollution. On the other hand, the listening adamantly delineates that air filters are not as effective as mentioned in the passage and cast doubts on each of the claims made by the author. First and foremost, according to the author of the excerpt, HEPA filters remove allergens without producing pollution. Nonetheless, the lecture offsets these points by declaring that HEPA filters are not really effective in removing harmful pollutants which are really very small. In other words, they are too tiny and can easily escape into the environment. Next, the author contends that ozone-generating air purifies can get rid of any unusual smell and airborne chemicals. In contrast, the lecturer refutes this argument. He clears out that ozone-generating air purifiers are not that helpful. It basically has a high concentration to remove bad smell and chemicals, which can cause lung damage. And these chemicals have the same effect as toxic materials. The article lastly points out that UV air purifiers remove harmful bacteria from the air. Nevertheless, the speaker in the listening counters these indications by insisting that UV purifiers do not clear away harmful materials in the air. Moreover, basic materials like cigarettes, harmful gases, and other fumes can be removed away by humans.
