Together with ongoing population and the number of patients annually, is overwhelming. The healthcare system is a crucial factor for each and every individual. I believe healthcare system should be free due to various reasons.
To begin with, advance technology had made life easier as well as complicated. Treatments which rely on advance technological machinery cost a fortune, for example, plastic surgery, cancer treatments, etc. These expenses cannot be handled by the patient alone. In addition, the taxation from the society had increased never before; this in-turn affects the financial status of an individual. I, myself pay tax- 15% of my fortnight salary.
“Work-covers” such as Super Annuations and Hesta, are loaded every financial payment day from an individual income. Government implements a work-covers in order to cover up health related complications such as a surgery etc. In addition, people contribute nearly quarter of their income on self insurance as a mandatory condition for all members. All of these organisations save money, promising to cover up potential health related conditions.
On the other hand, there are fewer countries who cannot afford to provide free services depending on the financial crisis of the country. However, I suppose, it's fair for the state to contribute half of the money to each patient in order to access quality treatments.
In conclusion, I believe, the society invests a great deal of money on the state government by means of sub-divided organisations such as superannuation, taxation, insurance and many more. Obviously, it is the responsibility of the state government to provide free health care support.
