The reading and lecture are about explanation of little ice age. kYj5M
The reading and lecture are about explanation of little ice age. In the lecture, it is stated that hypothesis on the reading is superseded and scientists proved that these explanations are faulty. To begin with, the author of the reading posits that melted glaciers caused big quantity of freezing water into the Gulf, causing the stream to heavily influence the climate. Nonetheless, lecturer notes that the current of stream would have influenced temperature of the Europe and North America. In fact, southern hemisphere of the earth witnessed the shift of temperature, which proves that this episode had not played significant role for the ice age. Secondly, in the reading, it is mentioned that volcano eruption emitted substances, which blocks the energy of sun to reach the ground. Thereby, temperature decreased in light of insufficient amount of sunlight. By contrast, the lecturer states that if volcanoes had sent magnitude of gas, which is enough to prevent sunlight to reach surface of the earth, it would have posed visual effect. Actually, there are no report about visual effect of color, which proves that volcanoes did not emitted much amount of gases and occasioned temperature drop. Finally, the author remarks that number of trees increased because of human population decrease. In addition, it is stated that bid body of trees absorbed magnitude of greenhouse gas, which makes the earth warm, and lack of the gas made the earth cooler. On the other hand, the lecturer refutes this idea by claiming number of human being increased after short span of time, and they continued decreasing quantity of trees. Thereby, he proves that short period of drop in human population did not posed the cool epoch.
