The reading passage discusses about nutrias which are rat like animals growing in damp and semi-aquatic areas. The passage is mainly concerned about controlling measures of nutrias. Several methods are suggested in the passage. However, the lectures tries to reprimand those control measures are they are deemed inappropriate. The very first control strategy is use of modern fences and walls made of hard materials. Wooden fences cannot be selected because nutrias are very efficient in cutting with their teeth.
