Three pie charts depict how much in percentages different types of nutrients contributed to the popular American meals. Added sodium, saturated fats, and sugars may be harmful to human health if they are consumed too much. Overall, dinner contained most of the unhealthy elements, in comparison breakfast was the healthiest from the presented meals. Added sodium was consumed by Americans in 43% during dinner, and lunch was the second meal which provided most of the sodium accounted for 25%. Around a quarter of daily sodium income was provided in breakfast and snacks. As well as with sodium, the dinner was the meal which comprised of the highest amount of saturated fats and they were at the level of 37% of daily consumption. In comparison to sodium content, the snacks and breakfast seemed to be more unhealthy if it comes to fatty acids, because they provided 21% and 16% of daily saturated fat intake, respectively. Similarly to sodium, lunch provided 26% of fats. The most significant provider of added sugars in the American diet were snacks with 42% content. In opposite to sodium and saturated fats, sugars in dinner made up 23 % of the daily income of this unhealthy nutrient. The percentage of added carbohydrates in breakfast was 16% and it was the same as the additional fatty acids content in this meal. Lunch seemed to be the healthiest meal if it comes to added sugars and provided 19% of their daily income.
