Throughout my academic life, amidst this dynamic world, if there is one thing that has remained constant, it is that fact that data when used efficiently yields fruitful information. I can proudly announce that my academic projects and undergraduate studies have provided me with the necessary skills and prepared me for exhaustive learning. To fulfil my long-term goal of becoming an entrepreneur and starting my own analytics firm, I believe now is the best time to take a deep dive into the subject since my determination and learning capabilities are at their peak at this point. And to acquire industry-ready aptitude to forge ahead in this dynamic field as a Business Analyst, making small and medium-sized businesses with cost-cutting and efficiency. To gain the aforementioned in-depth knowledge, I wish to pursue my Master's in Business Analytics at your renowned @@@@@ University. My innate affinity to opt for technical subjects and courses which also boost my critical thinking abilities made me pursue an undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham which is ranked 4th by NIRF. The course included subjects like Power Electronics, Soft Computing, Thermodynamics, etc. , that stimulated my interest. I also got introduced to budding technologies like ML and completed several personal and academic projects using technologies like MATLAB. During my undergraduate, I procured the required foundations in the fields of Mathematics like Linear Algebra, Calculus, Statistics and Probability with an “O” grade in all the courses. This will be an added advantage for me in identifying patterns and creating statistical models, processes, and algorithms to make accurate decisions. Already having finished these courses, I have fulfilled the required math coursework for a Master’s in BA. During this period, I had opted for C-Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Fundamentals of IT as my electives in my initial years and found them very interesting and fascinating to learn. I was specifically intrigued by the Soft Computing using Neural Networks elective course, which taught me concepts of ML like Classification, Regression and Probability Estimation. There was a lot that I achieved during the 4-year program out of which I can boast of maintaining a perfect CGPA of 8. 9/10 during the course and being awarded a distinction for the same by the university. Another feather was added to my cap when I published a paper on “Development of Semi-Active Hybrid Energy Storage System for e-Bike”. Our paper was accepted for publication in the second edition of "International Conference on Electronics and Sustainable Communication Systems (ICESC 2021)". This project focuses on developing a suitable hybrid energy storage topology in electric bikes and other lightweight electric vehicle applications. A vast literature survey about the available type of hybrid energy storage topologies and the comparison between them was done beforehand to determine the best topology for application. Then the project focused on developing the topology part by part in MATLAB and integrating everything together. Furthermore, I’ve also written a paper on “Covid mask detection using deep learning and OpenCV'', and submitted to “International Research Journal of Modernization in Engineering Technology and Science” (IRJMETS), which got accepted to its Volume 3, Issue 6, June 2021 edition. As an electronics student, it was natural for me to experiment with electrical and electronic components like Arduino. Using the same, I created a dual-axis solar panel stand. The aim was to develop a solar panel stand that would position itself with the help of light sensors motors and Arduino, to absorb the optimal sunrays. The apparatus included two servo motors while the stand had two degrees of freedom. The lower motor gave a 360-degree rotation and the one on top gave a 180-degree motion which helped the stand in keeping the solar panel perpendicular to the sun rays at any given point of time on any day. Also, to overcome the challenge of widespread fake news, I created a model to predict the veracity of the news articles using the Passive Aggressive Classifier. Another interesting project where both my theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills were used was when I created the "Movie Revenue Prediction System" by performing statistical analysis and extensive Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to build a model to accurately predict film revenues from The Movie Database (TMDB). This was conducted using mainly Python, and XGboost. I opted for fundamentals of IT, which taught me Python and SQL in depth. Most of my other projects were too based on the complex concepts of Machine learning. My Python certification from University of Michigan, stands as a testament for the knowledge I acquired. Exploring my fascination towards Business Analytics, I also pursued some other courses in areas like SQL, R, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau. Several other projects which I took upon my plate to solidify my foundation of technical concepts include a text translation model to translate five different languages from the Europarl datasets into English using RNN. Data science was another area of interest of mine and I decided to attend a three-day workshop on it which was conducted by ONLEI Technologies. Furthermore, I had taken a 6 weeks training on data science on Internshala, which helped me to gain a lot of knowledge in this field. Moreover, from the knowledge I gained, I’m working on a project which is related to Term Deposits, wherein my task is to predict if the client will subscribe to term deposit based on the client data. Currently, I’m taking training and internship on Data Science by ‘College Finder’. College for me will never be just about exploring academics and building projects which could solve real-world problems. I was aware of the importance of holistic development and kept myself engaged in various activities to brush up on my soft skills and leadership qualities. As a member of the corporate relations team of our college’s technical fest (ANOKHA), I had to bring substantial funds for sponsorship. I overcame many hurdles to meet the target amount of funds. After college hours, I used to sit with my team and focus on online promotions of the fest and organized fundraising activities. I’ve also done a Social Work Internship at “Youth Empowerment Foundation” through Internshala for one month, wherein, I and my team had to raise funds for Covid affected people using social media. A Master’s degree will not only help me accomplish my career goals, but it will also keep me involved in a field I am so keenly interested in. After examining the list of core courses at your university, and the plethora of exciting elective courses, I believe this course is absolutely tailor-made to my goals, needs. The diversified campus promises to be a very stimulating and enriching environment. Undoubtedly, it would be a great experience to be a part of such a lively community.
