During middle school, I used to attend typewriting class in my leisure time. One of my friends asked me why do you learn to typewrite when we have computers which can edit and save documents. Her question made me realize everything around me advances and it triggered me to think “If even insensate things around me get updated, Shouldn’t I also be updating? ” From then on, I started to cultivate myself to see an upgraded version of me every day. As the first step, I learnt extra languages like Hindi and French. At that time, I thought languages are meant for human-to-human communication, I didn’t know there are languages that can make human-computer interactions possible. My ultimate goal as an Engineer is to enhance my knowledge and professionalism in my field of interest and so to create an appealing career prospects. I am conscious that achieving my desire needs diligent hard work, sincerity and fascination to learn. I am ready to do everything at my best to make me a meritorious person.
When I was 11 years old, as a part of a science experiment I had to do series and parallel circuit connections using 9 volt alkaline battery and LEDs. That’s when I found my interest in electrical field and began to do more such small experiments. Eventually my curiosity grew bigger wanting to know more about working principles and manufacturing of electrical, electronics and mechanical devices and gadgets. In order to understand the theories behind all those experiments I opted Physics, Mathematics, and Biology group as my major in 12th grade. I remember I enjoyed studying Physics especially chapters like electromagnetic induction and alternate currents and Semiconductor electronic devices. After gaining fundamental knowledge in Physics and Mathematics during 12th grade, I chose to study Bachelor of Technology in the discipline of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Pondicherry Engineering College, Pondicherry.
Here, I acquired skills in Advanced Mathematics and Programming, Object Oriented Programming and core subjects like Linear Control Systems, Power Electronics, and Solid State Drives. I also had an opportunity to explore latest areas of study like Signals and Systems, CMOS VLSI Design, Modern Control System, and Digital Signal Processing as the elective subjects. I also completed a course in part-time called “Diploma in Multilingual Programming Language” in which I learnt computer programming languages like C, C++, and Java. Moreover, I was part of a national program conducted by Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) that offered online certification courses. Under this scheme, I took courses on ‘Internet of Things’ and ‘English Language for Competitive Exams’. I applied my understanding from the Internet of Things course in my mini project “Forest Fire Detection and Prevention System using IoT”. Additionally, I did my final year project research titled “Lyapunov Stability Analysis of Load Frequency Control Systems with Communication Network Induced Time-Delays and EV aggregator” which involved mathematical modeling of Load Frequency Control system integrated with EV aggregator and estimation of stability boundary region of time-delay.
In my fifth semester, I had done an Internship training at Neyveli Lignite Corporation, India where I had in hand experience on automatic control of Electrical Protection System using Programmable Logic Circuit. It was then I started dwelling on automated Intelligent Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. I was impressed when I read about recent trend “Robots get smarter” in an article of International Federation of Robots. It was about syncing digital sensors and smart software to allow direct teaching methods to Robots for industrial purpose. To add fuel to fire, I got a job in Accenture Solutions Pvt Ltd, where I got to learn and work in Automation Testing using Robotic Process Automation Tools like UiPath, Selenium, and Unified Functional Testing. Furthermore, it boosted my scrutiny to understand the connection of concepts of automation software with electro-mechanical machines. Consequently, I did online certification course on “Aerial Robotics” and “Machine Learning Foundation: A Case Study Approach” from University of Pennsylvania and University of Washington respectively through Coursera. Hence, I want to pursue Master of Engineering in (-----) University to shine in the research field of Robotics and Autonomous systems, and to join a world-class organization as an autonomy robotics engineer, robotics software engineer, and robotics software developer. Someday, I hope to find myself in a better state, become a role model for the juniors and share my wisdom in support of those who want to pursue higher studies.
