The reading and the lecturer are both about the Rembrandt painting. The author of the article presents three problems about the painting. The lecturer disputes the claims made in the article. Her position is that everything made in the article is true, yet there is some possibility that this work is done by the Rembrandt. First, the writer claims that their is problem with the women dress in the painting, because the women is wearing the cap, which is usually wear by the servants. Furthermore, It is stats that by the author that the coat is worn by the women is costly that servants can not afford. On the contrary, the lecturer mentions that during the examination it was observed that color in the painting painted superficially to enhance the painting cost by someone. Additionally, the professor maintains that the painting is originally painted by the Rembrandt. Second, the author asserts that Rembrandt has perfection in the light and shadow, nevertheless, these charecterstics contradict with the art of the Rembrandt. On top of that, he adds that the face is illuminated by the light refection, but below the collar face appeared dark. However, the lecturer calls this question into the argument that the when top paint from the face has been removed the paint of the face was bright in color and which was reflecting the light on the face, hence face was illuminating. Further, the lecturer remarks that the other body parts were looking dark. Finally, the author explains that after examination of the back of the painting it was observed that painting made of several wooden panels. In addition to this author asserts that Rembrandt paintings contains only single panel. On the other hand the lecture mentions that panel were glude so that painting can be stored for longer period.
