The intake of sodium is highest in dinner than any other meal that is 43% whereas, people in USA consumes equal proportion of sodium in snacks and breakfast. They are most likely to eat 14% of it in snacks and breakfast and 29% of sodium is consumed through lunch. Switching on saturated fats, on an average, folks in USA eat 37% of saturated fat in their dinner which is by far the peak intake throughout the day. The lowest consumption of fat is in breakfast that is 16% and usually goes 26% of fat in body at lunch however, slight lower than lunch, about 21% of fat is consumed in their snacks. Concentrating on the added sugar, anyhow most of the people do not prefer to have sugar in mostly all the meals except snacks. As a result, 42% of added sugar is consumed in snacks which is the highest amongst all. Despite of having such high amount of sugar consumption, 16%, 19% and 23% of added sugar is consumed in breakfast, lunch and dinner respectively. All in all, consumption of nutrients is good for health, on the contrary over intake of every nutrient can lead to have an worst effect on individual's health.
