Personally, although radio has been alive for many decades, it no longer adapts to our future life which is just “old school” media.
First of all, the future of radio is challenged by new technology. Radio would see a decrease in popularity during the rise of the television, which has a number of vivid images and amazing technic effects. Besides, the competitive apps, including Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and so on, can easily replace the ancient technology of radio, which does not have that many features. For instance, when users can post photos, status lines, and chat with friends on Facebook, radio communication is almost nonexistent which has one direction from speakers to listeners. Moreover, instead of passively listening to randomly information in the audio, people can actively search and discuss hot issues with other people through social media
Many radio stations are out of touch with their audience and fail to improve on-air content. In addition, it is clear that we are seeing the final run of the medium, catering to an aging generation, which is no longer compatible and out of fashion. Besides, it is no doubt that radio information is more and more insipid and useless, which are the most vital elements to communicate with listeners. No longer is radio as convenient of a means to get news and experience new or popular music. Radio is forced, once again, to innovate itself in order to keep from being eliminated by the more popular types of med. . .
To conclude, radio is insignificantly becoming tangible in the age of visual media, out of date with the young generation and totally stay behind in the near future.
