The friends I have associated with have changed me for the better, with their varying personalities, each impacting me. Some of my friends are expressive and uninhibited, which helped break down my shyness and introverted behaviour. This made me become a confident person and helped my sociability improve. I also have a study-oriented friend group that is always available for support and has assisted me when I need feedback or when I am having trouble in a specific area. In my earlier days of secondary school, I had difficulty with verb conjugations in French. One of my peers sacrificed his lunch blocks for almost a week to solve my issues. This was when I started to understand how much a friendship can benefit oneself. However, these relationships are not one-sided, as I also serve as an anchor when my friends need support. About a year ago, I can vividly remember a deep conversation between my friend and me. He told me about his broken relationship with his father and how the father had ruined his home life. I could relate to this, as my father and I had a very similar relationship to his, and I gave my input and advice on the issue. It made me value friendships tenfold, as he was comfortable talking about a serious problem. Whether it be my friend group or my study group, I know that they will always be there for me, and so will I for them. I treasure my friends, as they have shaped me to become the person I am today.
