The two maps illustrated the changes on Markland between 1902 and 1920. It could be seen that this land changed sufficiently through the year. There had been a great deal of development in the north of the land. The factory and old accomodation areas were demolished in order to build the bayley and mansions. Moreover, the waste land was transformed with the addition of the cafes and laundry. Move to the south of Markoland, many new facilities were constructed. The residential area was converted into a new park with a children's play area inside. Beside, some big shops were built in the south east of the land and a new road - New Land was added between the shops and Barley street park. Furthermore, terraced houses were knockdowned to give a way for building the modern flats in the west of the land. Overall, Markoland had developed dramatically through the year. This development occurred everywhere and provided more facilities for the people living there.
