This is an IELTS writing task 1 sample answer essay on the topic of a map of the town of Lynnfield from the real IELTS exam.

These maps show the developments which took place in Lynnfield. It can be seen that this area has been developed between 1936 and 2007. Regarding the surrounded area of the city, a river was located on the northeastern side of the city, which has been replaced by a residential area in 2007. Furthermore, a cycle path no longer appeared to exist in 2007, and instead, a wide road took its place and farmland, in the southeast, turned into a massive golf course and the nearby government offices changed the function of themselves and became a museum. Moreover, some trees that were located in the northwest of the town were chopped down. Conversely, some buildings planned to remain the same, namely library, post office, and bank. Nevertheless, a new shopping center was built behind the bank. Sweet and butcher merged into one building and became a supermarket. At last, the flowershop changed its operation and turned into a travel agent.
