The tables compares smoking percentages between British people over 30 years. British are classified according to their gender, socio-economical status and year gartegories. Overall, surprisingly, although the proportions tended to be slightly different 30 years ago, women and men figures were almost simmilar. Furthermore, inspite of scattered data for females, unskilled manual males were the most smoking gategory between their gender over the period. Finally, it's obvious that numbers tend to go down by years. Yet, fluctuation had started by last year. In regard to women, all skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled manuals and all aged 16 and over started by less than of half of them smoking. However, they decreased to about a third. Besides, professional, employers and managers and intermediate and junior non-manual were with near two fifths smokers 30 years ago. Nonetheless, they had dropped to 24, 20 and 14 percent, respectively, by last year. Regarding males, even though approximately 45 percent of employers and managers and intermediate and junior non-manual were smokers, all numbers had gone down to 21 and 23 percent, respectively, by last year. Moreover, all professional, skilled and semi-skilled manuals and all aged 16 and over figures had approximatelly halved by last year comparing with beganing of the period. Where 64 percent unskilled manuals smoked 30 years ago, just less than half did so last year.
