The table indicates how many mobile phones were sold in millions by five different companies over a six-year period, from 2006 to 2012. The companies are some of the most famous mobile phone sellers such as Apple, Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, and Ericsson. In general, the number of phones sold by Samsung and Apple had increased over the six years. Compared to one another, Samsung's sales had grown gradually, whilst Apple’s ones had gone up dramatically from 2. 3 million in 2007 to 135. 8 million in 2012. Although the products sold by Nokia fluctuated during the years, they had led the market each year except for the last year, when they were at 335 million. From 2006 to 2007 the number of devices sold by Ericsson increased, reaching a peak at 120 million in 2007. However, afterwards they started significantly falling by 2012, where the number of phones sold was the lowest only 28 million. Another brand that experienced a major drop was Motorola. Starting at the second-highest position in 2006 at 210 million the cell phones sold reached the last place together with Ericsson. In conclusion, the number of sold phones by Samsung and Apple showed an upward trend, whilst those of Motorola and Ericsson are experiencing a downward one.
