The two tables illustrate the satisfaction of city’s dwellers with six criteria (education, healthcare, environmental, shops, employment and transport) in 1980 and 2010. The respondents expressed their opinion assessing each area as ‘good’, ‘bad’ or ‘neither good nor bad’.
Overall, more respondents were able to categorically assess their satisfaction with particular aspects in 2010 than in 1980. Moreover, in 2010 the smaller percentage of asked people find the presented aspects as ‘good’.
In 2010 the level of satisfaction increased with education and employment (from 72% to 82% and from 62% to 72%, respectively). However, the higher percentage of respondents find the above aspects as ‘bad’. The share of dissatisfied people with education increased by 4% (from 5% to 9%) and employment rose significantly by 13% (from 10% to 23%).
Furthermore, more people perceived being in the worst condition in 2010 than 1980 in the following areas: healthcare, environmental, shops and transport (from 82% to 72%, from 72% to 71%, from 64% to 60%, from 52% to 39%, respectively).
