The table provides data on how much land is made up of forests in four distinct countries in the years of 1990, 2005 and projected numbers for 2015. 8GR8x
What stands out from the table is that Australia and Brazil saw and are predicted to see a slight fall in rates, while the figures for New Zealand and Chile were and are supposed to be the other way round within the years studied. Moreover, despite falling in percentages with time, forests in Brazil constitute more than half of the total land in each year. As for Australia, the figures, before hitting an estimated trough of 20% in 2015, decreased from 21. 9 to 21. 3 between 1990 and 2005. Likewise, it is also true for Brazil. With a massive 62. 2% in the initial year, the proportions fell back by 5% in 2005 and are set to follow the anticipation of 53. 5% in 2015. By contrast, some signs of reforestation can be seen in New Zealand and Chile. The former reached 31% in 2005, with the latter pointing up 21. 5% at the same time, increasing by 2. 2% and 1. 1% respectively. As for the predictions in 2015, both are predicted to increase, but a little more slowly, accounting for the corresponding figures of 32. 3% and 22%
