The table illustrates the proportion of income spent on food, electronic equipment, music and videos in the UK in 1998. Mostly, adults and children use their money on food. In the UK in 1998, Adults had spent 25% of their income on food and 5% on electronic equipment and music. But they only spent 1% on videos. Gentlemen spent 14% of their salary on food. On the other sides, ladies spent 39% on it. Male spent 10% whereas females spent only 1% on electronic equipment. For music, the people spent 5% on it. Men used their income on videos. Children spent their highest proportion of pocket money on music and the second-highest on electronic devices. But they spent their money on videos and food, 12% and 10% respectively. In food, boys spent 9% and girls spent 5% on it. Boys spent their money on music which is as similar as girls and also in a video. Boys spent 18% whereas girls spent only 5% on electronic devices.
