The table illustrates the percentage during four years for male and female of different regions. Overall, we can see that the literacy rates are important in all the regions with a total of 82. 2% of literacy in the world. However, the percentage of literacy is always higher for the male with in total 87. 2%. According to the table, the region who has the most important rate of literacy is Europe and just after Europe it’s America and Oceania with less 5% of literacy than in Europe. Moreover, in some regions the difference of literacy between the male and female is not significative, as for example in Europe with a difference of just 1% between the males and the females. Contrary to, other countries who the difference is important. To illustrate, I would like to talk about in Africa who the rate of literacy is of 71. 6% for the males and of 53. 9% for the females. With these main figures we can see a big contrast between some countries. That’s why in a lot of countries we talk about the inequality who continues to progress. To conclude, we notice that in some region we can see important figures so we can imagine an increase in these regions like Europe, America… We can see this evolution also between the gender because the percentage between the male and the female is all the time different.
