The table illustrates six Internet activities among people and how the activities vary according to people’s age.
Overall, citizens participating in this survey voted that using the Internet, they always wanted to get news, while teenagers preferred playing online games most and older generations spent their time researching products.
Looking at the details, at least 70% of people use the internet to get news, whilst 81% of teenagers play online games. This table dropped gradually to reach a low of a quarter with people in their fifties and then increased in popularity with older people.
As for downloads, this activity displays a similar trend to internet games, but they are less popular in general and decline markedly with people over age 40. What is interesting is that only 6% of people over age 70 downloaded when they accessed the Internet.
However, product research encountered a reverse situation. Nobody in their teens did this activity as opposed to the lead recorded in middle aged citizens (83%), followed by the figure declining slightly by 13% at the last age group.
Just well 40% is a striking percentage demonstrated in buying a product for both age groups, was remarkably more than the data recorded in searching for people, with the number comprising 5% in their teens.
