The table illustrates the four reasons to attend arts events by adults in the UK over the past twenty years. Overall, while desire to see specific artist or performer was the most popular reason, whereas work or business was the most least popular reason for adults in the UK to attend arts events. It can be seen that desire to see specific artist or performer was the most significiant reason in each three decade. It almost remained stable throughout the twenty-year period; varying from 58% twenty years ago to 56% today. On the other hand, the reason of accompanying children had slightly increased from 9% in twenty years ago to 24% today. The percentage of who attending for special occasion or celebration has shown a marked decrease from 27% in twenty years ago to 20% in a decade ago. After that it had a dramatically fell by 9% today Finally, there has been a moderate rise in the percentage of people who attending arts events for work or business. It had increased from 6% in twenty years ago to 11% in today. It's clearly seen that from the table, there has been a considerable rise in accompanying children for a reason of attending arts events. Also, there has been significiant decrease in the reason of special occasion or celebration throughout the twenty-year period.
