The table below shows the percentage of the furniture owned by households in Scotland from 1970 to 2015 QRLyL
The table illustrates the proportion of the furniture owned by households in Scotland between 1970 and 2015. It is clear that there was a gradual increase in the figure for furniture possessed by families during the observed period. In particular, TV was a must have item in every house while dishwasher seemed not to be important at all. Looking at the information in more detail, TV started at 80% in 1970, rose consistently to 100% in 2000 and then remained stable to 2015. In the contrast, there was no data about dishwasher until 2010, which was only 10%. Following this, the percentage of washing machine increased more than ten times between 2015 and 1985 (55% and 5%). As illustrated, there was a same upward trend in the figure for video and vacuum cleaner from the first record in 1970 to the last year in 2015 (from 15% and 10% to 98% and 95%). Although central heating reached the 45% mark in 1985, which was at least twice as high as that for fridge (25%), both of them had a fairly equal figure in 2015 (98% and 97% respectively).
