The given table depicts the information about the changes in assigning pattern of an average Australian household over two separate years 1991 and 2001. Overall it can be seen that, the expense in 2001 was slightly higher rather than in 1991. Although, food and non-essential goods and services accounted for the greatest proportion of expenditure, whereas, clothing and transportation seem to receive the least investment. To begin with, there was a significant proliferate in electricity and water spending over a 10year period, from 75 to 120 Australian dollars per month. Apart from this, The amount mazuma distributed in food, housing, and other goods and services just marked a slight rise of 5AUD, 5AUD, and 20AUD respectively. However, clothing and transportation spending showed a downward trend vis-a-vis other growths. Australian paid a tiny sum in dressing up, of which figure fell from 30 AUD to 20AUD. Transportation cost even saw a dramatic decrease, from 70AUD in 1991 to merely 45AUD in 2001.
