The chart below describes the results of the United Nations study done in Canada, Japan, Peru and Zaire in 1994, according to social and economic indicators. Generally, Canada and Japan have almost the same indexes in all four indicators, in comparison with other countries. According to the indicator of annual income per person, Canada and Japan had almost the same indexes, 11100 and 15760, respectively. The absolutely different situation happened in Peru and Zaire, with just 30 USD difference (160 and 130). Based on life expectancy at birth indicator- Canada and Japan had a comparison of just 2 years, with 76 and 78 years, respectively. In Peru, however, the life expectancy is 51 year, which is 4 years more than the one in Zaire. The highest daily calorie supply per person was noted in Canada, and the least index supply was noted in Zaire, 3326 and 1749, respectively. In Japan(2846) and Peru(1927) the daily calorie supply differed by approximately one thousand calories. The adult literacy rate had the same percentages in Canada and Japan (99%), while Zaire got almost 3 times lower index (34). In the following indicator Peru took the second place, peaking 68%.
