The plans below show information about a coal mine before and after redevelopment as a visitor attraction

The two diagrams illustrate the main renovation which took place when a coal mine was converted into a visitor attraction. Overall, it seems that the waste tips of the coal mine disappeared and a large number of modern facilities were introduced and became a significant part of redevelopment. The entrance remained which gave a road to go underground. While the coal mine was operated, the entrance was used by the workers, but after the changes, visitors used it to go inside and outside. At the bottom left of the diagram, the parking area was still located in same position. On the opposite side of the entrance, the office and changing room for workers were removed and replaced by the museum. On the site of the waste tips, the digging driving track and picnic area was built for visitors. While the director board and car parking were demolished totally and gave way to the cafe. Finally, at the bottom of the plan, the lottery park was installed beside a children's recreational area which also was newly erected.
