Overall, the majority of the amount of water is used for industrial use in all of the surveyed areas whilst Central Asia consumes the lowest quantity of water for industrial use. In terms of using water for agricultural use, it is seen that Central Asia, Africa, and South East Asia are in the top three areas using water with 88%, 84%, and 81%, respectively. Simultaneously, the proportion of water used for this purpose in South America accounts for 71%, which is nearly 2. 5 and 7 times as much as that in Europe and North America with 32% and 13%, sequentially. Meanwhile, North America and Europe witness the high ratio of water consumed for industrial use at 48% and 53%, respectively. The figures for the remaining areas including South East Asia, South America, Africa, and Central Asia are 12%, 10%, 7%, and 5%, sequentially. Also, there is approximately a fifth and seventh of the amount of water used for domestic use in South America and Europe, respectively. The numbers for North America and Africa are 13% and 9%. Eventually, Central Asia and South East Asia consume the same amount of water at 7%.
