The pie charts below give data on the spending and consumption of resources by countries of the world and how the population is distributed. o9MD
Three pie charts are given, representing respectively the distribution of the world spending, the world population and the consumption of resources. Overall what strikes the most is that although the majority of the population is located in Asia, USA and Europe (which are less than 28 per cent of the whole population) hold more than half of the consumption of resources. Regarding the world spending, the biggest slice of a specific category is food at 24%. The world spending is divided in five categories, although the biggest one is the least specific: 40 per cent of the whole money are spent in a vast range of products that are summarized in the “other” category. Following, primary needs such as food, transport and housing hold a relatively big percentage, 24%, 18% and 12% respectively. Moving on, the world population is dominated by Asians, who are 57 per cent of the whole, while Europeans and Americans are definitely in a smaller scale, both at 14%. This pie chart is in contrast with the one regarding consumption of resources: 60 per cent of the resources are consumed by only about a fourth of the population (USA and Europe).
