The flow chart illustrates how three different kind of tea, green tea, oolong tea and small black leaf tea made from tea leaves.
In the first step of process, the tea leaves are picked by hands. Secondly, the moisture from the leaves is removed. The next steps vary for different teas. for green tea, the tea leaves are then steamed for a specific time. Thereafter, there are rolled. Finally, the leaves are dried and green tea is obtained.
For oolong tea, after moisture removal, the leaves are directly rolled and not steamed. The leaves are subsequently kept in the air for four hours. Like a green tea, in the final step, the leaves are dried and oolong tea is ready. In case of small leaf black tea, instead of rolling, the leaves are crushed. The next two steps are similar to oolong tea. The leaves are kept in the air, but in this case for two days instead of four hours. Finally, like oolong and green tea, the leaves are dried and small leaf black tea is ready.
Overall, it is clear that the process consists of five main steps for each type of tea from the initial picking of the leaves to the eventual drying of the leaves.
