The bar chart represents the proportion of the world’s total population in four countries (India, china, USA, Japan) in 1950, 2003, and projections for 2050. Overall, the figures of all countries are steadily declining except for India. Additionally, India is the only country which is expected to have a rise in 2050. In 1950 and 2000, china has made the greater proportion of the world population, despite it has reduced from around 23% to 20%. USA and Japan had the similar reduction in the population as well from 7% to 5% and 4% to 3% respectively. Whereas in India the proportion has slightly increased from 15% to around 17%. In 2050, except for India and USA all other countries population are predicted to decline. India’s population will rise from 17% to 19% and when it comes to USA there is stabilization in residents. On the other hand, china and Japan will see the reduction from 20% to 15% and 3% to 1% respectively.
