Whilst Norway has been the most flourishing country in the Winter Olympics, the US has been  able to obtain the most number of medals in Summer Olympic. As far as Winter Olympic is concerned, Norway is the leading country with more than 300 medals, more than 100 of which is gold medal. Following Norway, the US has been the second pioneer nation that has gained roughly 250 medals, less than 100 of which is gold. Germany, USSR and Canada are placed in next positions with more than 200, more than 170 and more than 150 total medals achieved.
