This bar chart illustrates the changes in the number of people living in urban areas, percentage-wise between 1950 to 2050. Overall, the population of every single continent faces an increasing trend but the most populated urbanized area in our planet by 2050 will be north America and despite all upward trend in urban in Africa this will continent will remain the least populated area in the world. Asia and Africa and Oceania started the year 1950 as the least populated continents. Although in 100 years Asia and Africa made a big change and each of them increased the urban population by around 45 percent and Oceania grew by 10 percent by 2050, they still count as the continents with the lowest urban population. North America, Latin America / Caribbean, and Europe as the most populated urban areas in 2050, had slightly different trends from 1950. The Europe and north America urban populations went up around 30 percent by the year 2050 while Latin America and Caribbean had 42 percent growth, which made Latin America and Caribbean even more populated in urban areas than Europe.
