The maps below show the changes that occurred in the year 1960, 1980 and in 2000 at Queen Mary hospital. Overall, in the given years the places around the hospital are slowly expanded to accommodate new treatment centres and schools. Currently, the hospital and the car park are present since its construction. In 1960, there is a shopping centre present near the main road and in addition to that, farmland can be seen right beside it. The Queen mary hospital is next to the shopping centre along with the car park. In 1980, the hospital has been expanded into a sub-building for pharmacy and in addition to that, a cancer centre has been established in place of the shopping centre. The farmland was removed to provide space for a nursing school and this is situated right next to the car park. In 2000, the major change is the cancer centre, this has been expanded significantly, however, this is possible because of the reduction in the area for both nursing school and the car park.
