The set of maps illustrate the town centre of a small town called Islip at present and later with the proposed changes. Focusing on the first map, it is evident that a main road runs from west to east in the town center. There are shops on either side of this road. However, on the northern side, behind the shops is the countryside; whereas, on the southern side of the main road is the huge residential area. A park is created on the south-west part - there is a school. However, the Islip Town Centre would be remodelled with the proposed developments. To begin with, the entire town Centre shall be coward off by a dual carriage way. The exiting main Road shall be restricted for the pedestrians only. The shops and the area of countryside on the north will be replaced by construction of a bus station, a big shopping centre, car park and a new residential area. The shops, park and school shall remain untouched; however, a new houses would be built near the park and some houses shall be on the other side of the carriage way. Overall, it is clear that the principal change to the town will be the construction of the ring road around the centre and the refurbishments in the facilities.
