the maps below show the centre of a small town called islip as it is now, and plans for its development.

The two maps illustrate the different changes that are going to be made to the centre of Islip town in a planned development. Overall, the most noticeable feature includes a replanning and additional contructions to give the centre more ulitities. Particularly, in the future, the countryside in the north of the town will be disappeared, while the centre is going to be surrounded by a dual carriageway which bring more convenient transport amongst housing, school and country side. The centre of Islip town is located to the north of the school. Originally, the south shop-system passing though the centre and the nearby housing are kept, meanwhile other areas will be changed significantly. Specifically, the main road will be replaced by a pedestrians one; the north shops are demolished and transform into new facilities as a bus stop, a shopping centre and a car park. Another important addition is two new housing built in the plan, in which one will be between the origin housing and a smaller park relocated and one which will be to the east of the carpark is linked with the dual way. Moreover, school is experienced to open extended and still at the prior situation in the south-west of the centre.
