The maps below illustrate the present layout of the Islip Town Centre and the future layout which is planned to be developed. At a first glance, we can see some major changes include the construction of a bus station, car park, and a shopping center. Currently, the Centre consists of the main road surrounded by a series of shops on both sides. The countryside is located towards the North whereas a school is located towards the South of the Centre. Several housing facilities are present in the middle as well as in the South. A school and a park are also situated near the housing facilities. The development plans focus on converting the main road to a pedestrians zone. A ring road will be built which perimeters the entire area. Various facilities like a shopping Centre, car park, bus station, and new housing complexes will be constructed to replace the line of shops located in the North. At last, all these changes provide the people with a wide range of services to offer visitors a more wide-ranging experience.
