The map illustrates the town of Garlsdon and two proposed sites for the construction of a supermarket. Clearly, site 2 has better connectivity compared to site 1. To begin with, S2 has been planned in the town centre where there is a no traffic zone while, S1 has been proposed to be built in the countryside. A railway line originating from North west travels towards south east through the city centre. Similarly, there are 3 main roads that connect the city centre with Hindon, 12km in the north west, Cransdon, 25km in the south east and Bransdon, 16km in the south west. The city centre is surrounded by residential area on all sides but, majority of the area lies in west and east. A small space has been occupied by industries in the north and south. Finally, countryside surrounds the entire town. S2 is planned to be in close proximity to the residential area and the railway line which also enables connectivity to Hindon and Cransdon. However, S1 is proposed to be in the north west corner in the countryside. Better connectivity would be possible because both railways and main road pass through the site.
