The line graph illustrates the paper, wood pulp and sawn-wood which were contributed in the UK between 1980 and 2000. Overall, paper and packaging observed a sharp increase and became by far the most important production of forest industry in the UK, on the contrary, the figures for sawn-wood and wood pulp fell by various patterns over the period. In 1980, paper and packaging contributed around 225 million tones at the beginning of the period, which was followed by 200 million tones for sawn-wood contribution. Wood pulp witnessed a slight decrease to a bottom of 150 million tones, however, the amount of paper and packaging rose gradually in the next ten years. Both wood pulp and sawn-wood production recorded at 150 million tones in 1990. Meanwhile, there was a sharp growth from 250 million tones to 350 million tones in paper and packaging production from 1990 to 2000. After decreasing in the first half of the period time, the amount of wood pulp had then seen a small, overtaking the figure of sawn wood production. The amount of sawn wood remained dropped till the end of time frame, the lowest in three types of the survey.
