The line graph demonstrates the quantities of goods transported by road, water, rail, and pipeline in the UK. During 1974 till 2002.
Overall, goods transported in the UK using different modes had observed a gradual increase over the years. With some fluctuation in between.
In 1974, the Most amount of goods transferred were by road with over 70 million tonnes. While on the other side, the least mode of transport used was the pipeline with just about 2 million tonnes in the UK. Which later saw a gradual rose over the course of 8 years where it reached 17 million and later observed a plateau till half-past 1990-1994. And later repeated the same pattern till the end of 2002. Where it just surpassed 20 million tonnes.
While on the other hand, water & rail were almost the same in 1974. But later observed incline and decline in the number of goods transported respectively. Where the number of goods transported by water was around 60 million tonnes constantly in between 1982 and 1990. On the other hand, rail mode decrease continued where it reached its lowest point between 1994 and 1998. But later increased and end up around 21. 5 million tonnes in the year 2002.
