We live in an era where technology is ubiquitous. This year more than ever we have experienced on ourselves how difficult it can be to stay connected to real life, not having an ethernet wire and a computer in our houses. With the arrival of the World Pandemic from Covid19, the school world, and the students themselves are those who have most felt, together with the workers, the influence of this tool. Many of them had to get it, others already had it in the house. After a year, returning to the same houses, we can see how all this social distancing has heavily influenced our lives and those around us. Many young people have taken to the streets, to protest against DAD - a form of distance education that is not bringing results. According to the facts, many presented recurring headaches and lack of attention, precisely because distance teaching favors this type of distractions.
On the other hand, the protest comes from the parents, who say they are desperate and exhausted, from this academic year. The result of DAD has led many of them to have to stay at home, so that they can look after their children, and not be able to work. Many of them in fact cannot be practicing smart working, and here is where the unemployment rate increases.
I think the use of this tool is fair if moderated. We cannot afford to pass the time on the hands, in front of an object of not even 20 gr. Life has to be bitten off the screen. This year I rediscovered how important it is the hug of a friend, the smile of a parent, and the joy that we have in our eyes when we are all gathered around the same table, between laughter and chatter.
