The growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing 7716
Shopping online has become the revolutionary change the 21st generation has witnessed. It not only enables to buy things we wish to purchase at click of a key but also saves our time and money. The increase in the trend of online shopping would impact the age old custom of going to a shop and purchasing products physically but would not lead to extinction of physical shops. This essay will argue upon the fact that increase in online shopping would not lead to shops in cities and towns closing. Online shopping has been a boon to the humans but it has its own drawbacks which cannot be overlooked. In numerous conditions it cannot be favourable to rely on online shopping because of various factors such as power cut, delay in the time to deliver the product may vary from place to place, product quality might differ from one seen on online portal, unavailibilty of certain exotic items being sold out due to high demand. For example, in 2019 world wide famous online portal Amazon removed about 5000 brands underneath its wings due to lack of authenticity of their respective products and customer dissastifaction. Furthermore, there exists certain percentage of population who prefer going to the shops and examining the products in physical presence and then believe in buying the products. Certain people not only disregard the growing trend of online shopping but also believe in the charm of buying commodities after trying and testing methods. For example, according to a survey conducted by Harvard in 2018, 55 percentage of people voted for buying commodities from a physical shop rather than relying on online shopping. Therefore, I strongly disagree that growth of online shopping will one day lead to extinction of physical shops due to the cons it brings to the table along with the convenience it has brought to a widespread population.
