Overall, the total number of tourists visiting the caribbean island always increased during the whole period. Additionally, the figure for visitors staying on cruise ships was lower than that for those choosing to spend on the island in the years. Total visits started at 1 million in 2010, and then slight increased throughout the period. It stood almost 2. 7 million i 2015, after which remained constant until 2016. Since then, there has been a considerable rise to 3. 5 million by 2017. Tourists staying on the island were about 75, 000 in 2010, and doubled over the next three years to level off at 1. 5 million, and remained constant until 2015, next fluctuated at this level over the final two years.
