The graphs depict the effect of vaccination on whooping cough in children before and after vaccination and the increase in vaccine uptake between the years 1940 to 1990. Overall, the number of cases has reduced after vaccination while the number of cases dropped by increased steadily after that. The number of cases of whooping cough was 60, 000 in 1940. The number of cases kept fluctuating wildly reaching its peak of almost 180, 000 cases in 1941 and 1953. Since the beginning of vaccination in 1957, the number of cases fluctuated but maintained a declining trend, reaching single digits in 1972. The numbers fluctuated but increased again to 70, 000 in 1983 after which the fluctuating but declining trend persisted and eradicated the disease effectively by the end of the millennium. 81% of the kids were administered the vaccine by 1966. The vaccine uptake number dipped slightly before facing a steep decline to 30% in 1977. It started increasing at a healthy rate since 1977, reaching 90% in 2010 and finishing at 94% in 2010.
