The graph shows information from a 2010 report about the percentage of population over the age of 65 in four countries, India, China, Japan and the US since 1980 with projections until 2050. VGL6
The given line graph depicts and forecast the information on the rate of inhabitants over 65 across the following four countries, India, China, Japan and the United States from 1980 to 2050. Overall, America is predicted to hit the peak in future while India is predicted to hit the lowest point. In general, the population growth of all countries shows an upward trend. In the beginning, Japan had the highest percentage of old citizens which is seen to be gradually increasing. However between 2000 and up untill around 2010, there appears to be a dip in the rate of population growth. Again, from 2020 and till the next two decades there looks to be un abrupt increase in population growth with then will be levelled out in 2015. The next highest populated country in 1980 was United States, where it was below 10 per cent and skyrocketed in 2020 which doesn't appear to be stabilizing in the near future. The second least populated country china, climbed gradually till 2010 and upsurged dramatically during the next five decades. Lastly, India which was the lowest populated country amoung the others did not see a rise up untill 2015 where the percentage nearly tripples. To conclude, it is evident that by 2050 most of the countries' population will see a considerable growth.
