The gap between total waste and recycled waste is significant. As can be seen from the chart, the total amount of waste and recycled waste has increased slightly while the non-recyclable waste has tended to decrease. the figure of total waste did not change significantly from 1999 to 2003 but it did have a slight increase from about 450 to more than 500. In contrast, untreated waste tended to decline with a decreasing rate from more than 400 down to 300 kilogrammers. The statistics of treated waste tend to increase the most from just 0 kilogrammers in 1999 to nearly 200 in 2003, which is a significant change.
