In 1992, 2140 grams of vegetables were used weekly in people’s diets, which was higher than the consumption of meat with 1148 grams. The amount of vegetables increased slightly to 2220 in 2012. By contrast, there was a small growth in the amount of meat at 1211 in 2002, before declining by 79 grams over the next ten years.
People consumed 837 grams of wheat and 532 grams of beans per week, then both figures grew to 977 grams and 590 grams respectively for the following twenty years. Meanwhile, cheese accounted for 113 grams in people’s food intake. After climbing to 125 grams in 2002. the amount of cheese maintained unchanged until 2012.
